• Avoid making changes to the text without checking with the translator. Even one word or punctuation mark can change the meaning of your text.

• Check for consistency: Count the paragraphs and compare them to the original. Check for spelling and typographical mistakes. Have all names and terms been used correctly? Is the text easy to read? Are some sentences too long or too short? If you find any such problems, or if you have used more than one translator, it is worth having your entire text proofread for consistency.
