Who is this course for?

• Language teachers of all ages and levels.

• Please note: you do not need any previous experience of drama to follow this course.

• You need an intermediate and above level of English to participate in this course.

Course Summary

This course will engage you in a series of practical and energising drama based activities for use in the language classroom. These activities will help you develop better group dynamics, sharing skills and a heightened awareness of the ways you communicate with your students.

What are the key course contents?

Topics include:

• group co-ordination and trust exercises

• warmers for the classroom

• using the body to learn vocabulary and language structures

• story telling techniques

• creative play through improvisation using the voice and body

• developing your own communication skills

• using intonation, stress, rhythm and pauses for dramatic effect.

• Exercises to assist drama group leaders

• Participants may apply for an EU grant to fund tuition, travel, accommodation and subsistence. Applications for grants must be submitted by 30 March 2007.

• You need to reserve your place before applying for your grant. You do not pay anything if you are not awarded a grant. On registration we will send you more information about funding.
