Course Summary

This stimulating and intensive course allows you to discover and experience some of the core principles of Transactional Analysis (TA). You will become familiar with tried and tested resources, techniques and strategies including such TA concepts as life scripts and games. Working styles (drivers) and strokes. TA’s creative approach to professional and personal growth will empower you to teach or train more effectively.

You will learn inspirational activities for use in the classroom and how to recognise and to respond to your students’ and your own needs more successfully. This short course focuses on the essence of effective communication – relating effectively.

What are the key course contents?

Topics include:

• Exploring how we learn and how our beliefs affect our learning.

• How we communicate – and changing patterns of behaviour

• Identifying different working styles.

• Understanding groups and how they change and grow.

• Planning and teaching through meeting fundamental needs – our own and our students.

• Transforming dysfunctional ways of communicating and resolving conflict

• Ways of giving and receiving constructive feedback.

• Pulling the strands together and using your newly acquired skills.

Funding

• Participants may apply for an EU grant to fund tuition, travel, accommodation and subsistence. Applications for grants must be submitted by 30 March 2007.

• You need to reserve your place before applying for your grant. You do not pay anything if you are not awarded a grant. On registration we will send you more information about funding.
