Course Summary

Many teachers are faced with the demanding challenge of teaching large, mixed level classes. In such circumstances both the teachers and individual students can feel "lost in the crowd".

• Creative activities for large classes.

• Pair work, group work and movement in large classes.

• Effective strategies for gaining and maintaining whole group attention, including the use of gesture and voice.

• Activities and approaches that encourage individuals to feel valued within the group.

• Different approaches towards discipline.

• Creative strategies for dealing with mixed levels.

• Recognising and working with different learning styles.

Is this the right course for me?

• Yes - if you teach large classes and want to become more effective within the classroom.

• Yes - if you want to gain direct experience and understanding of learning as part of a large group.

If this is not the right course for you, please consider one of the following:

• Secondary Teaching - methodology for learners between the ages 11 - 18

• Creative Methodology for the Classroom - a general methodology course for all ages

• Teaching Multiple Intelligences - examining new insights in offering a broader description of intelligence and how this can make your teaching more effective.
